Tom and Lori did not set out thinking they would one day own a plumbing and heating company. They moved up north from Milwaukee because an opportunity opened through Tom’s uncle, Pat, who was working at Zimdars. What began as a big change from city life to the quiet north country slowly became home. Today, Tom cannot imagine being anywhere else.

Tom spent years working under Jon Zimdars and Owen Muthig, learning the trade, learning the people, and learning what it really means to serve a community. When the chance came to purchase the shop in 2008, Tom and Lori stepped in with gratitude and a sense of responsibility. Since then, the business has been nothing short of a blessing.

They see themselves as stewards more than owners. Zimdars has been serving this area for 80 years, and Tom and Lori feel deeply thankful to be part of that long story. Through busy seasons and quiet ones, their hope has stayed the same: to take good care of the families who trust them.

That sense of commitment runs through their whole life. Just as they care for the community, Tom and Lori care for one another, celebrating 34 years of marriage, two wonderful children, and seven lively, joy filled grandchildren.
